  • What is Meaningful Use?

Meaningful Use is the term used to describe how to use the certified-EHR technology in the way it was designed. When used appropriately, Meaningful Use of certified-EHR aims to:

    • Improve quality, safety, efficiency, and reduce health disparities
    • Engage patients and families in their Healthcare
    • Improve care coordination
    • Improve population and public health
    • All while still maintaining privacy and security rules set forth by HIPAA
  • What is offered in the Meaningful Use Consulting Package?

We offer a comprehensive and personalized approach to meeting the Meaningful Use requirements.

Once we verify you are using a certified-Electronic Health Record system, we begin training you and your staff on how to meet Meaningful Use by guiding you from the initial step to the very last requirement. You will receive unlimited support to ensure a successful Meaningful Use report, as well as weekly progress reports to track your progress and identify areas that need improvement. We will then submit the documentation to the State/CMS proving that you have met Meaningful Use. If you are a Medicaid Provider and eligible for the continued funding through the EHR Incentive Program, we will apply for your funding, as well. As a Medicare Provider, successful Meaningful Use reporting will help you avoid a reimbursement penalty.

Our unique approach eliminates the confusion of Health Care reform and allows you to focus on what you do best – patient care.

  • Is there still money available for participating in Meaningful Use?

    Yes!

If you have received your Year 1 payment of the EHR Incentive Program*, then you may be eligible for continued funding by demonstrating Meaningful Use. Medicaid providers can still receive up to $42,500 in incentive funding, in five annual payments of $8,500 until 2021.

*Haven’t received your Year 1 payment of $21,250 through the EHR Incentive Program? Visit our other division at http://www.ehrfunding.com/ to find out if you can still apply for the initial funding! Don’t wait – 2016 is the last year to apply for and receive Year 1 of the funding before you cannot elect to participate!

  • Are there Penalties for Not Participating in Meaningful Use?

Medicare providers who did not attest to Meaningful Use by 2014 are currently facing annually-increasing reimbursement penalties on their Medicare insurance claims. This will increase by 1% every year between 2015 – 2020 and may prevent practitioners from renewing their licenses to practice or from continuing to bill Medicare claims.

Medicaid Providers are forfeiting the opportunity to receive continued incentive funding through the EHR Incentive Program by not attesting to Meaningful Use. Similar penalties assessed to Medicare providers are likely to be applied to Medicaid providers once the incentive funding ends.

Many pieces of legislation in multiple states have shown the writing on the wall – Meaningful Use is here to stay and being mandated into law across the nation. Let us help you avoid penalties, collect incentives while they are still available, and get you in compliance ahead of additional hurdles and up-coming infractions.

  • I don’t have a certified-EHR. Can I still attest to Meaningful Use?

It is required to be using a Certified-EHR to be able to meet Meaningful Use.

We will consult you on whether or not your current software has a certified upgrade available. If your current software does not have a certified upgrade available, the next step is for the providers to determine which certified software to switch to that will work well in your practice and be conducive to your unique workflow.

If you are a Dental provider, we now offer EHR-1, a Certified-EHR designed for small- and medium-provider practices.
